Mr. Toufique Hasan joined the Bangladesh Civil Service (Foreign Affairs) in 2001. Son of Principal Mujibur Rahman and Mrs. Shirina Begum, Mr. Hasan passed BSS (Bachelor of Social Science) Honors and MSS (Master of Social Science) in International Relations from the Dhaka University.
After joining the diplomatic service, Mr. Hasan served at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Bangladesh in different fields, i.e., Protocol Wing, Consular Wing, Europe Wing, SAARC & BIMSTEC Wing and the Foreign Secretary’s Office. Mr. Hasan also served at the Bangladesh Embassies in Paris (2005-2008), Bangkok (2009-2012) and Washington, DC (2014-2017) in different capacities.
Mr. Toufique Hasan received professional training from the Foreign Service Academy (2002) in Dhaka and the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre (2003) in Savar, Bangladesh. He also obtained a Diploma in International Cycle of Public Administration (CIAP) from the Ecole Nationale d’Administration (ENA) in Paris, France in 2004. As a part of this training, he served at the French Embassy in Oslo, Norway as a trainee officer in 2004.
Mr. Hasan took French language training at Alliance Francaise de Dhaka and later at Cavilam, Vichy, France in 2003. He also took a short Thai language training course arranged by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand in 2010.
Mr. Toufique Hasan is married to Mrs. Ismat Jerin Farhana and they are blessed with two sons – Shayan Hasan and Sharhan Hasan.
